Tonight is the night!!!!!
Tonight determines which 10 drivers will get to compete for the Nextel NASCAR Championship Cup.
The green flag will drop at approximately 7:40 PM ET tonight at Richmond International Speedway in Virginia. The pre-race crap starts at 7:00 on TNT and the better funny pre-race stuff is on SPEED channel from 5:30-6:00 ET. That show has Kenny Wallace and Jimmy Spencer and is a riot!
Matt Kenseth is in 9th place currently in the Championship points. He only has 11 points more than the guy in 11th place. Tonight he must do great. Tonight car # 17 must rule the race!!!!
Tonight is the night that will either have me screaming with joy or pouting/cursing for days. Or, if someone wrecks Matt, I might kill my TV. Nope, I will put a hex on any driver that wrecks my Matt, especially the driver whose name will not be mentioned on my blog, but he drives some car with a 2 and a 4 on it.
For Elliott Sadler, it’s a long shot. He is 52 points out of the 10th spot.
The perfect race would be for Elliott to win, Matt to come in 2nd and Tony Stewart to come in 3rd. That way both Matt and Elliott would be in the “Chase for the Championship Cup”.
“The Chase” lasts 10 races and determines who gets 5 million dollars and the Cup trophy. I think Tony Stewart is going to win the championship this year. He’s been kicking ass lately. But it would be nice to see Mark Martin finally win a Cup Championship. Or even Rusty Wallace in his final year of racing.
