Burton still mad as moron awaits decision on penalty

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- NASCAR officials say penalties will likely be issued tomorrow over postrace actions following the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Four-time Cup champion he who shall not be named on my blog could face a penalty for shoving Matt Kenseth after the race.

"We've had some conference calls this morning, and we'll probably release some stuff tomorrow, as usual," NASCAR Vice President for Competition Robin Pemberton said Monday during the test of the "car of tomorrow" at Bristol. "Monday is usually our day to get our thoughts around it."

He who shall not be named on my blog had a long day at Bristol but was running in the top five when he got hit from behind by Kenseth. he who shall not be named on my blog spun and finished 21st.

After the two drivers climbed from their cars on pit road following the race, he who shall not be named on my blog shoved Kenseth.

Earlier in the race, he who shall not be named on my blog got into the back of Martin Truex Jr. in an accident that collected Jeff Burton.

Burton, who was testing a car of tomorrow, still wasn't happy with he who shall not be named on my blog on Monday.

"We have drivers who think it's OK for them to do something, but it's not OK for somebody to do it to them," Burton said. "he who shall not be named on my blog is a perfect example. ... Martin Truex should have shoved him down pit road, too.

"I should have shoved him down pit road, too. He wrecked me. He made a conscious decision to wreck the 1 car [of Truex], and I got wrecked because of it."

Burton said he does not think, though, that he who shall not be named on my blog should get a major penalty.

"I don't think that for a shove, that NASCAR should step in and there should be huge fines and penalties and all that," Burton said. "However, where is the line, where is the limit?"

For his part, Burton said he'd be prepared to deal with whatever comes his way.

"If someone wants to show their displeasure with me like that, then they've got to understand that I might show my displeasure that they're showing their displeasure," Burton said.
